Building the Room
A single performer establishes an entire room through object work alone, with no dialogue, and the group afterwards describes what they saw.

How to run it
- One performer takes the stage in silence.
- They enter through a door, establishing its type, weight and handle height.
- They move through the space using at least five objects — furniture, taps, drawers, switches — with consistent positions and weights.
- No speech and no mugging to the audience.
- Afterwards, the group describes the room aloud. Discrepancies are the note.
What it teaches
Object consistency and spatial discipline. The debrief is where the learning happens, because it shows precisely where belief broke.
Coaching notes
Ask the observers to describe the room before the performer speaks. If four people saw four different kitchens, the problem is specificity rather than effort.
Where it usually goes wrong
Miming generically — the classic invisible-wall hands — instead of handling specific objects with real weight.
