Thank You, Brain

Say your brain's first offer out loud, accept it verbatim, and add one sentence — yes-and, practised on yourself.

1 players · 3 minutes

How to run it

  1. Ask yourself a planted question out loud: 'What's in the box?'
  2. Answer with the FIRST thing that arrives, however dull — 'a receipt.'
  3. Say 'thank you, brain', accept it, and add one sentence that treats it as important: 'A receipt — so she kept the proof after all.'
  4. New question, new first answer, new addition. Ten rounds.
  5. If an answer feels too boring to use, that's the one you must use.

What it teaches

Self-agreement. Most blocking happens before your partner ever hears you — this drill catches the internal veto in the act and overrules it.

Coaching notes

'Thank you, brain' sounds precious and is doing real work: it interrupts the judgment reflex with acceptance before the edit can land.

Where it usually goes wrong

Auditioning three answers and picking the cleverest. The whole exercise is that the first one was already enough.
